Lecture Information

Beautiful Bindings

Learn to apply a perfect binding with mitered corners and hidden seams by following a few of Karen's simple techniques.  Learn the easiest scallop technique ever using simple items that you already have at home.

The project demonstrated in this class is our Three Pocket Tote pattern.  The information provided is applicable to any quilt and no special tools are required.  The technique is a slightly different fold that yields perfect results every time.

Tips from a Pro

Join Karen to learn the top 5 tips to improve your accuracy, including your cutting and piecing skills.  Learn the difference a ruler, your thread and pressing techniques can make in turning your quilt into a Judges Choice.

This is a shorter version of the So Many Techniques presentation listed below and will better fit your time frame.  Although the information is presented lecture/demo style, I will provide plenty of show-and-tell to illustrate the points as I make them.

So Many Techniques, Sew Little Time

Join Karen for a round of rapid fire tips and tricks as she introduces you to several techniques and small projects that you may have never tried.  Including 3-D work, machine appliqué, fussy cutting, shadow appliqué,  foundation paper piecing and button embellishment.

This is my most popular lecture.  The samples include our Button Pillow series of 12" by 16" decorative pillows.  Each project features a different technique.  In the presentation I give tips for achieving professional results including thread selection, stitch options, the difference in fusible products and embellishing ideas.  This is a product knowledge lecture, no specific products are required.
